Join us for an unforgettable journey of learning, exploration, and fun at the Southwest Technical College Leadership Summer Camp in Wisconsin from June 12-26, 2024! Designed to enhance leadership skills while discovering the culture of Wisconsin, this immersive program offers a diverse range of activities tailored to inspire and empower young leaders.

By the end of the two week program, students will receive Wisconsin's Youth Leadership Certificate, which recognizes a student’s mastery and demonstration of leadership skills in collaboration, creativity, communication, critical thinking and community service, valued by employers, communities, and organizations.

Here are some of the exciting excursions and activities awaiting you:


  • The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Dubuque, Iowa: Dive into the wonders of aquatic life and explore the rich history of the Mississippi River at this captivating museum and aquarium.

  • Madison Tour: Discover the heart of Wisconsin's capital city as we visit the iconic State Capitol.

  • Madison Mallards Baseball Game: Experience the excitement of America's favorite pastime with a visit to a baseball game featuring the Madison Mallards.

  • Cheese Factory Tour: Indulge your taste buds as we tour a local cheese factory, witnessing the craft behind Wisconsin's famous cheese curds and dairy treats.

  • Platteville Mining Museum Excursion: Step back in time at the Platteville Mining Museum, delving into the fascinating history of Wisconsin's mining heritage, followed by a stroll around the UW-Platteville campus.

  • Lands' End Tour: Journey to Dodgeville, Wisconsin, and explore the operations of an international retailer known for its quality apparel and innovative business practices.

  • Historic Prairie du Chien Visit: Immerse yourself in the history of this early fur-trading settlement as we tour the Villa Louis Historical Site and Fort Crawford Museum.

  • Nature Walk at Governor Dodge State Park: Connect with nature on a scenic hike through Governor Dodge State Park, then marvel at the unique attractions of the House on the Rock.

  • Farm Tour: Gain insights into modern farming practices as we visit one of Southwest Wisconsin's premier dairy farms, showcasing the innovative methods of today's farmers.

  • DPI Leadership Certificate Community Project Presentations: Conclude your summer camp experience with presentations showcasing the final work done as part of the DPI Leadership Certificate Community Project and Leadership Academy.
